A WORD FROM THE MANAGER……

Well as you will have seen there was no report after last weekends game, i mean how do you report on a game you lose 7-1. Poor old Bell and Noz had to save me from suicide several times in the week, but at the end of the day it is one game that's all, so let's crack on with the rest of it.
So moving on swiftly to this week, we got back to winning ways in the Kent Cup against Battle of Britain, a side who have won 7 out of 7 in their league. Beating them 4 - 2 was a great result. Missing Clayts and Rosey from the week before we had to shuffle things around a bit. Trailing 1 - 0 at half time after Luke "The Midget" Gibbons glanced header ended up at the feet of their centre forward in the 6yd box.
Going down the slope in the second half, Battle of Britain made the cardinal sin of thinking the hard half was over and done with. Little did they know what we had in our locker for the second half. First up came a great little chip from Bappsy which left the keeper grasping at thin air. After going 2-1 down, Jay Chambers got on the scoresheet to equalise with a great header after superb work from Bappsy out wide. After a wayward pass from DC found it's way into the path of Wisey, he cut in from the left before finishing at the keepers near post. Jay Chambers got the forth after Fabio Finch put it on a plate for him by spraying a 50yd ball straight to his feet. The skip then made no mistake with his lob. 4-2 and back to winning ways.
Away to Camden this week who like Battle of Britain are unbeaten in the league. Not for long let's hope.

Princes Park Reserves 3 - Montrose 2

Similar to last week against Abbey United, this was again a must win game having lost our opening two league games and Montrose still remaining unbeaten. It was imperative not to let them get any further ahead of us in the league. Yet again the guys didn't let us down. Even with five players missing we still had a cracking squad of players capable of winning any match.
We went down the slope in the first half and was finding it really difficult to get our momentum going and ended up going in at half time 1-0 down, against without doubt the best opposition we have come up against in the league this season. Frustration was setting in with the guys getting on each others backs but it was all about sticking together and coming through it together. Through the highs and lows we stick with one another.
The second half didn't see us at our best by any means but we were certainly more organised and had more about us. Up step Biggsy. Probably 22yds out he caught hold of his shot which went in just under the bar. 1-1 and well and truly in it. Up step Biggsy again for his second. About 25yds out and this one was that good that had Andy Gray been there he would have analised it from about fifty different angles and confirmed it as a peach of a goal. Best goal we will all see in a long time and well worthy of putting us 2-1 up. To stop Biggsy getting his hat trick we dragged him for DC. I'm sure DC has already told you but he came on and absolutely run the show in his brand new shiny £125 boots. With time running down it was hard not to start thinking that we were almost there, however, with 8 minutes left The Monk dragged down the centre forward for a penalty which was then duely dispatched. 2-2. Needless to say I told The Monk not to worry about it and that i blamed everyone else but him. I had to take The Monk home on my own you know! Most people would have thought that the onslaught was about to come our way but we dug deep and managed to create ourselves one last chance with two minutes left. With the ball flying around the box it dropped to Gary 'The Engine' Rose. Purposefully picking his spot in the corner with a deft little header. 3-2 get in there. Massive win. That good a win that when I was telling Bappsy about it afterwards he told me he was getting Goose Bumps just listening. That's the effect we have on people. Great day gents, keep u the good work.

Princes Park Reserves 3 - Crown Alexandra 1

Well the Princes Park Reserve Team glory train has most definitely left the station now. With a Kent Cup fixture against Crown Alexandra and a third round date at stake, we put in another great performance and deservedly put ourselves in the hat for the next round. We continued to play as we have done for the last few weeks now and are looking good for it. Somehow though we did manage to find ourselves 1- 0 down with an absolute howler from DC in the sticks. Putting it on a plate for the centre forward he was never gonna miss the open goal DC had left him. I think DC was distracted by Webbys little kid who was there to watch, who thinking back on it looked very much like DC himself. We gave ourselves a great chance to get back in the game a minute later when Johnny Ash was hauled down in the box. After his penalty last week, Bappsy again stepped up. Needless to say it was still 1-0 after he had taken it. We did get ourselves back into it before half time though through Wisey. A great strike across the keeper into the bottom right hand corner. Straight out the coaching manual that one. This was slightly better than his earlier effort which in similar fashion to last week went off for a throw in. Half time 1-1. We came out the second half and went straight for the jugular. We had the added bonus that along with his kid, Webby had also dragged his Wife along to football, a true MILF, so this gave the boys the incentive to put in a great performance which is something Webby is not doing indoors apparently. Rightfully so we got ourselves ahead through Cobbin who got on the end of a Rose corner. Sure i've read that line somewhere else! Before the game was put to bed by Ben Martin, DC did manage to try and throw it all away again by dragging down the centre forward for a penalty. The advantage of having DC in the sticks in a one on one situation like that is it doesn't give the taker much to aim at. As Rosey said, the guy must have felt like he was trying to find the net in a Hockey goal. Full time 3-1. Everyone will get their chance as it is a long old season so just stick together as we can have a really good season here. We have built up a bit of momentum going into the make or break game next week against Abbey United, let's keep this run going.

Just to finish, any chance you can bring the MILF again next week please Webby?

Crayford FC 0 - Princes Park Reserves 6

The Princes Park Reserves Glory Train has now left the station. We've had a great few weeks now, firstly winning in the Kent Cup after extra time against Lombard Phoenix, then putting in a solid display against the first team and now absolutely taking apart Crayford FC to put our first points on the board for the season.
This week against Crayford FC we carried on where we left off the week before. The togetherness that we will have to continue to show will see us through week in week out and I am certain we will go from strength to strength from now on. With The Monk in the sticks and a three at the back of Cobbin, Fabio and Krusty, we never looked in trouble throughout. With Wisey and Ashdown marauding at ease on the flanks, there was no chance they were going to be able to live with us for 5 minutes let alone 90. Our trio in the middle of the park consisted of Probets, Rose and 38 Shots at Goal, 0 on Target Biggsy, we completely dominated that part of the pitch along with everywhere else. The only thing worse than Biggsy's shooting this week was Wisey's shot that went out for a throw in!!!!! Embarassing to be on the same pitch as him it was!!! With Talk Your Ear Off Fletcher coming on for the injured Ashdown and Little Ben Martin replacing The Skip, we stayed strong throughout and never really took our foot off the gas. Every phase of play started from the back and went through the middle of the park before reaching our Goal Machine/Skipper and Bappsy up top. I think they call it 'Total Football' in some parts of the world.
Bappsy gets the headlines this week bagging four and catching Skip up in one game. Skip got himself on the scoresheet though with a ruthless header, his fourth goal of the season opening the scoring and getting proceedings under way. The other goal came from a thunderous strike from Krusty out wide on the right hand side. Some would say a 40 yard screamer (by some I mean Krusty), others would say an undefendable cross that the centre half put through his own net.
I know the boys wanted to dedicate this victory to the amazing support we had again. Lukey Gibbons, Ian White White White, Hergo and Hergo's Young Lad, we couldn't have done it wothout you guys.

Roll on next week, Crown Alexandra in the Kent Cup. Up the Ressies.
