Message From Barry Brixey
|
Myself, Joel and the girls would like to thank the club and team mates for their touching tribute to
my dear Frances. Replacing the flag of St David with the Flag of St Andrew was a moving mark of respect
for a most wonderful wife, Mother , Nana and true friend who will be missed by us all.
The funeral arrangements are for a church service at St Marys Church Stone at midday Friday 9th December,
followed by cremation at Medway crematorium.
May we take this opportunity to pass my families condolences on to Ian Whites family, for the loss of
their mother Nancy at this difficult time for both families.
Regards,
Barry

Double Champions
|
The First Team started the match away to Barnehurst only needing a draw to win the league. Barnehurst
opened the scoring in the first half and it remained 1-0 at HT. In the second half with fifteen minutes
to go Princes Park had a chance to equalise with a penalty, the spot kick was taken by skipper
Steve "Smudger" Smith but the keeper saved his kick and from the rebound "Smudger" could only put his
shot over the bar. Some might have thought that the chance to win the league had gone but they got their
deserved equaliser with forty-five seconds left in the match. The goal was scored by Jack Stone who put
the ball into the empty net following up Luke Underdown's header. This ensured a draw as the match
finished 1-1 and gave Princes Park the league title by two points.
The Reserves started the match at home to Abbey Wanderers again only needing a draw to win the league.
The match started with Abbey scoring in the first few minutes but Princes Park equalised ten minutes
later with a fine goal by James Wise after a good through ball by the man of the match Lee Biggs.
Princes Parks second goal come shortly afterwards and was scored by Lee Biggs with James Wise adding a
third before half time. This put Princes Park in the driving-seat but in the second half Abbey scored
first after five minutes to make it 3-2. Back came Princes Park and the next goal was scored by John
Ashdown with a cross come shot which went in and the back post. The final goal for Princes Park was
scored by Daryl "Bappsy" Apps who scored from three yards after rounding the Abbey goalkeeper. Abbey
finished the scoring after Princes Park goalkeeper and clown Darren Chambers thought he could try and
dribble past the Abbey striker but he lost possession and the Abbey forward rolled the ball into the
empty net. However the game ended 5-3 to Princes Park and the club had completed the double of league titles.
